There he held various jobs in the heavy equipment industry, in addition to being an avid outdoorsman. John was born and raised in the USA, and spent most of his early adult life in Montana and Washington State. He first came to Mongolia with his initial assignment being as the Managing Director of Wagner Asia Equipment. From there John went on to build a tourist camp and do several business startups(Wagner Automotive, Newcom Mining Services, Ayanchin Outfitters, Ayanchin Four Seasons Lodge......), all while facing the endless ambiguity associated with life in a foreign land.
